monthly rad reads //
ahhh, the sweet, sweet feeling of coming out of a reading slump! I AM BACK IN ACTION and crushing 15 books (with SIX of them racking up five stars) felt SO GOOD. march was great! yay books!
february felt like a reading SLUMP even though, sure, i read 11 books (6 of them were novellas!). i didn’t have FUN reading this month…
by popular demand, i’m back to rounding up all of the reviews of what i read each month here on my blog, and i hope it’s a helpful resource for you!
I took my big solo road trip this month, so I did NOT expect to finish this many books, but a few audiobooks on the road helped! I had more one-star reads than ever this month, which was not super fun… here’s to better books to finish this year strong!
The first half of this month was full of a lot of books (although not many winners…) and then I basically stopped reading entirely? Thanks, depression…
Phew, it was a SOLID month of reading! It helps that I traveled and had time to read on flights (PRAISE), and that I had some housesitting time that involved days spent by the pool, and that I did I spent the last weekend of the month doing a readathon that resulted in 4 books being read over 2 days!
I continue to hardly read during the weeks and then read ALL THE THINGS on the weekends (thank you, Sabbath!) and my Goodreads challenge continues to stress me out with its reminders of how behind schedule I am… but whatever! Here’s to reading for FUN when we want to and not getting stressed about it!
I’m always surprised that I read at ALL during birthday month, when there are so many festivities to be had! But this month stepped things up as I tried to catch up on the Goodreads goal that was seriously slacking… but overall, not a ton of great reads this month.
I’m slowing down on my reading progress and it’s starting to bum me out… but then I remember I still read 13 books this month and several of them were real favorites... so I want to celebrate that! Slow and steady is the name of the game right now, and I’m giving myself grace that it’s okay to not be flying through books all the time.
Had some amazing reads this month, and some duds, but that’s life. It was a female-heavy month, but I didn’t read as diversely as I ideally would like, so I’m focusing more on that in April!
A solid (even thought it felt slow) month of reading! Started strong focusing on Black authors, trailed off as I got preorders in the mail and Netflix distracted me with Firefly Lane.
It’s been a minute, but I’m back to posting my book reviews here on the blog for easy searching. It’s nice to be able to search for books and reviews here, and hopefully it’s helpful for you all too.
I’m both really excited and also not at all surprised by how many books I read this year… a pandemic and a lot of quarantining and living alone and needing to escape the mess of a world means you choose books a LOT. (If you’re me, anyway.)
Phew, the year ended in a bit of a frenzy, with lots of Christmas craziness (did you know it’s SO FUN and SO MUCH WORK to be on staff at a church in December?!?!??) and lots of great, fun books.
You know those months where you just want to read books that feel good? That was me this November. Romances + mysteries + a few non-fiction reads to inspire and motivate, and I was a happy little reader this month!
October, I love you so much. Thank you for bringing fall leaves and fall weather (FINALLY) and the end of spooky season. Thanks for all the books and for new mystery series and for really good YA reads. You’re my favorite.
In my efforts to avoid any and all outdoor activity since September decided to be hotter than summer, I read like 5 million books this month, so there’s lots to share here!
August got off to a slow start but ended strong just in time for September and FALL to begin. Let’s go!
July was full of so, so many library books (SORRY, books i already own! i promise i’ll read all of you eventually!) and lots of Colleen Hoover and mostly easy, breezy romances… but hey, it’s summer, so NO SHAME.
Ahhhh, sweet summertime. Wait, just kidding — this is my least favorite season by FAR. Thankfully, though, the days are longer and the extra sunlight motivates me to read even more than usual…
This month was full of SO MUCH READING and so many fast, fun, kick-off to summer books, and lots of YA, and a few duds too… but it was SOLID. The stack of books got a little out of control by the end of the month, but that’s the best problem to have, am I right?! Here’s to even more reading this summer!
I did not read much at ALL this month. Even though I got through 8 books in total which doesn’t seem THAT far off from my goal of 10, many of this month’s reads were short ones (young adult, middle grade, and quick creativity books that were very fast reads!).
It’s been a BUSY month and I have had wayyyy less reading time, but am still so proud of getting through as many books as I did!
This month had a healthy mix of real winners and total duds, but I’m proud of how many books I got through in this shorter month!
I started 2019 strong with my reading! I’m still focusing this year on increasing the diversity of what I read (genres, styles, lengths, authors, etc) and I think it’s going to be awesome.
It was a month of a lot LESS reading than normal, but the ones I read were great, and I discovered a new kind of literature I cannot get enough of...
The last month of the year. The month I hit (and passed!) my 200 book goal. The month I finished 17 books. Basically, A GREAT MONTH.
april was the month i read the steamiest book of my life (still not over it, i loved it) and returned to enneagram books and read 4 five star reads… a solid month, overall!
