10 #booktok Recs for A RAD Reading Challenge

Never did I ever expect that TikTok would change my life… but here I am, saying that a little social media app that I once thought was just for dancing has truly changed my life. I downloaded TikTok during the peak of the pandemic when I was bored in quarantine, and now have over 200,000 followers invested in what I’m reading, journaling, collaging, and sharing there. SO WILD.

Truly the best part of TikTok, though, is #booktok — a beautiful place where readers of all kinds talk about books, share recs, and nerd out about reading. I’ve discovered so many amazing new books because of recommendations on #booktok, and have rounded up some of my favorites here today!

ps— if you missed it, here is A RAD Reading Challenge for 2022, and you can find the printable version and Instagram story versions here. About once a month, I’ll be sharing recommendations for the different prompts to help give you inspiration and ideas for what to read.

New this year, Jenn Duell, the teen librarian at the Richmond Public Library, is joining us and sharing YA recommendations on the Shelf Respect blog each month. I’ll be sure to share young adult recommendations in my round-ups every month and to link her posts, too — such a fun collab. Jenn will be completing A RAD Reading Challenge with all YA reads, which you can totally do too, or feel free to mix it up with whatever you want to read.

And now, on to the recommendations!
