A Gift Guide for Good

Last year, I shared a list of amazing products called The Giving Back Gift Guide. All the products were from organizations, businesses and individuals that give back and support great causes around the world, and all for under $60! You can't beat that.

I wrote then, and still adamantly believe today, that where and how we spend our money matters so much, and I want my money to support what I believe in: freedom, empowerment, self-sufficiency, an end to hunger and disease, sustainability, and so much more.

Why not give gifts that are working for good in our world at the same time? What a win all around!

Here's the best of what I've found-- and all for under $60 because ain't nobody got time for expensive stuff-- have fun shopping for all your loved ones. I won't judge if you throw some things in your cart for yourself too. Treat yo'self.

They've done it again. I already love their necklaces and the fact that they employ people transitioning out of homelessness. I love that their whole model is "pay it forward" once you've embraced the word on your key and you meet someone who could use it more than you. I love their founder and the fact I got to meet her and hear her speak at Yellow Conference a few years back. And now? I love this key cuff. HOW COOL.

Causebox ($54.95/month quarterly or $49.95/month annually) // Sevenly

This is my FAVORITE box subscription out there. I loved Sevenly already, but when they launched the Causebox a year ago, I jumped RIGHT on that bandwagon ASAP. I've gotten four boxes now, and each one has been full of over $150 worth of incredible, socially good products that give back to so many wonderful organizations. It's the best combo of all the things and groups and products I love, for such a great deal.

They keep your cold drinks cold for 24 hours. They keep your hot drinks hot for 12 hours. (Hot coffee at my desk all day long? Heck yes.) They donate to UNICEF to give clean water to those in need. They come in tons of cool colors and a few different sizes. What else could you possibly need or want from a bottle?! (Answer: nothing. So buy one.)

These Turkish towels are amazing. I got one in my Causebox this summer (more love for Causebox!) and knew it would make the PERFECT gift for one of my friends. She loved it! They're hand-loomed by artisans who have been in weaving familes for generations, and every purchase helps build homes for families in need around the world. It's the perfect picnic blanket, light beach towel, cool blanket, or just a fun throw to spruce up your living room. This stripe is my favorite, but there are other patterns, and some designs are even on sale!

I'm a HUGE fan of all things 31bits, and this jewelry making kit for kiddos? Adorable. What a fun, hands-on craft to do with little ones? It's a great way to talk about the women who make these in Africa too, and to tell a bigger story while also making precious pieces of jewelry. 31bits empowers women to rise above poverty, and everything they create is BEAUTIFUL.

I got these headphones in another Causebox (okay, maybe this whole post is just to convince you to buy a subscription...) and I absolutely love them. Best earbuds I've ever owned. The wood? So cool. The sound quality? Amazing. The cord? Never tangles. WHAT A WIN. Plus, have you ever heard of a headphones company that also gives back? Now you have! LSTN helps provide hearing aids to a person in need through Starkey Hearing Foundation with every purchase made. The coolest.

I've been on the hunt for a woven basket for a while and this one seems perfect. Simple, classic, and perfect for trips to the farmer's market or to a park with a blanket and a book! This is a fantastic price for a basket handwoven in Kenya with locally sourced palm leaves too, and every purchase helps create jobs for widows and single mothers in East Africa and also helps fund scholarships for orphans in the region. SO much goodness.

I found this planner through their Kickstarter campaign, and I'm in love with it. There are so many planners out there, but I love the faith-based theme of this one, and the fantastic way it helps you set goals and dream big and really craft your passions. It's beautiful, too, and 10% of all proceeds go to A21! Awesome stuff.

I have loved Miriam Designs for a while, and loved FashionABLE for even longer. I have jewelry from Miriam and scarves from FashionABLE and they're some of my favorites. Earlier this year, the two joined forces under one company, which is exciting news! This necklace is one of my favorites in their collection (if favorites can even be picked) because it's simple, classic, dainty, and feminine. It could be the necklace you never take off, and I love that! These purchases create jobs for women around the world too and are handmade by women, so it's just a whole lot of girl power goodness going on!

These are potentially the coolest coasters I've ever seen. They're earthy, natural, men would love them, women would love them, your house would look cooler with them on your coffee table, they're fair trade, and you would also provide fair wages and support great working environments for our artisans in Uganda. Sold yet?

Happy giving, and happy giving back!
